Lenten Lunch next Saturday

The Union of Catholic Mothers are organising a Lenten Lunch of soup and sandwiches for you and your families to enjoy. The Lunch will be from 12.30 to 2.30pm on Saturday 20 March. Tickets are on sale after all Masses this weekend: £3 for adults, £1.50 for children.

Stations of the Cross in Lent

During Lent we have Stations of the Cross in the Church each Friday at 7.30pm. There Stations are also prayed every Monday in Lent after the 10am Mass. To make the sacrifice of attending the Stations each week is a very worthwhile penance for Lent.

A plenary (under the usual conditions) is attached to devout participation in the Stations of the Cross.

Lenten Lunch

The Union of Catholic Mothers invite you to come with your friends and family for a special Lenten Lunch on Saturday 28 March from 12noon to 2pm in the Large Hall.

Parish Family Fast Day

I would like to propose this Friday 13 March as a Lenten “Family Fast Day” when, as a parish, we try to go without some of the food we would normally eat. There are envelopes for you to use to make a donation, perhaps proportionate to the cost of the food you forego.

The proceeds of the Family Fast Day will be sent direct to the Holy See’s Agency Cor Unum for use throughout the world to help those in most need.
